Introduction and Scope of Application

Welcome to the website of the Croatian Association for Radiotherapy (HURT). This Privacy
Policy applies to the processing of personal data of natural and legal persons cooperating
with the Association, its members, and website visitors. By accessing the website, you
acknowledge that you are familiar with the methods of data processing, including our cookie

Collection and Types of Personal Data

We only process the following data that you voluntarily provide:

For natural persons (HURT members):

  • Name and surname, date/year of birth, personal identification number (OIB)
  • Residential and/or temporary address, telephone, e-mail
  • Event photographs
  • Occupation, institution name, professional title, field of interest

For legal persons (associate members):

  • Entity name, OIB, registered office address, contact telephone, website
  • E-mail of the legal entity, name and surname of the representative

Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data on the following bases:

  • Consent for sending notifications and using photographs
  • The legitimate interest of the Association for event organization, communication, and membership records
  • Legal obligation where applicable (e.g., accounting, donations)

Purpose of Processing and Limitations

Data are processed solely for:

  • Membership records
  • Communication, sending information, and event organization
  • Issuing certificates, participation in projects
  • Promoting the work of the Association

Processing beyond these purposes is possible only if directly related to the original purpose, or if required by law (e.g., court request, fraud prevention, etc.).

Individual Rights

Right of Access to Personal Data

You have the right to access your personal data processed about you and may request detailed information, particularly regarding their purpose, type/categories of processed data including access to your personal data, recipients or categories of recipients, and the intended storage period. Access may only be restricted in cases prescribed by Union law or our national legislation, or when such restriction respects the essence of the fundamental rights and freedoms of others.

Right to Rectification of Personal Data

You have the right to request the correction or supplementation of your personal data if they are inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. To do so, send us a request specifying what is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, and in what way it should be corrected.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request deletion of personal data relating to you if one of the following conditions is met: your personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or processed; you have withdrawn your consent on which the processing is based pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) or Article 9(2)(a) and there is no other legal basis for processing; you object to processing pursuant to Article 21(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and there are no overriding legitimate grounds; personal data have been unlawfully processed; personal data must be erased for compliance with a legal obligation under Union law or the law of the Member State to which the controller is subject; personal data have been collected in relation to the offer of information society services referred to in Article 8(1).

Right to Restriction of Processing

You have the right to obtain restriction of processing if: you contest the accuracy of the data; the processing is unlawful and you oppose their erasure; the controller no longer needs the data but you require them for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; you have objected to the processing of your personal data.

Right to Object

If personal data are processed based on legitimate interest or for direct marketing purposes, you may object to such processing.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data that you previously provided to the controller, in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. You have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data were provided, if the processing is carried out by automated means and is based on consent or a contract.

These rights do not apply to the extent that processing is necessary: for exercising the right to freedom of expression and information; for compliance with a legal obligation under Union law or the law of the Member State to which the controller is subject; for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller; for archiving in the public interest, scientific or historical research, or statistical purposes in accordance with Article 89(1), to the extent that exercising these rights would likely render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of the objectives of that processing; or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

You may exercise your rights free of charge. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data (e.g., encryption, access control, backup). Data are protected against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or disclosure.

Usage Data

When using our website, technical data such as IP address or access information are generated. These data may be linked to personal data and, if necessary, are processed exclusively in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
